Brandie's New York Adventure
And I suddenly remember THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS . It was one of those movies that Brandie and I watched on LaserDisc over and over again. On those lazy summer Saturday afternoon, Mon and Bernard would come over to the house and we'd watch it again.
I guess we liked that movie a lot because it gave us the impression that if you work hard enough (and if you're clever enough), you'd be able to make it from the mailroom to the boardroom in two weeks.
As the theme song went, "The secret of my success / is living 24 hours a day!" Hmmm... isn't that what I've been doing the past couple of years. Well, I guess it did get me somewhere. Although, sometimes, it feels like it took me away from my original destination. Let's see if I can steer my way back to comic book land.
